News / Pupils learn how to keep bikes clean

Posted Friday 18 May 2012

Year 4 pupils were given a sponge and bucket today as they learnt how to keep their bicycles in tip-top condition. A little bit of elbow-grease never goes amiss when it comes to keeping a bike roadworthy and safe; pupils were given a demonstration of what to do by Lana, our BikeIt officer, before being let loose on their own bicycles to make them sparkle!

A usful way to get pupils to spot some of the common faults that can occur on a bike, it also gave Lana the opportunity to give each bike a quick once-over to check that they are all in roadworthy condition. More cycling activities to come this year, including Level 1 and 2 Cycling Proficiency for Year 5 and 6 pupils in June: watch this space!
